The World Cup is upon us again. I'm officially the world's least qualified person to be writing about football, but since I have taken delivery of a lovely range of football related items I feel I must try!
I live in houseful of males (partner and various children) and consider myself lucky that they don't really take any interest in the football. Yet all of a sudden a score chart has popped up, the offside rule is being explained on a nightly basis, and even an England flag has been waved under my nose (although its proving useful for quieting the smoke alarm during the daily toast burning session).
But, isn't it strange? For someone who hates football, even I have been a little caught up in it and actually found myself shouting 'silly billy!' at the screen when someone missed a goal (although I couldn't tell you which player, or even which team!). I guess its one of those events that unites us.
I'm sure once its all over I'll assume my usual stance, but until then, I'm even thinking about putting some
football bunting up!
